What this is

The Holistic Therapy Dog Association issues commemorative recognition for dogs and maintains a public registry of those recognitions. By registering a dog you agree to these terms.

What this is not

Holistic Therapy Dogs are not therapy dogs and are not service dogs. They must not be represented as either, to anyone, for any purpose.

This certification confers no legal rights, privileges or protections whatsoever. It does not apply to air travel. It does not apply to housing. It does not apply to public accommodation, workplaces, schools, hospitals, restaurants, or any other setting. It creates no entitlement of any kind, in any jurisdiction.

Service animals are trained to perform specific tasks for people with disabilities and are protected under federal and state law. Clinical therapy animals are evaluated and certified by other organisations under their own standards. This Association is not one of those organisations and does not claim to be.

Presenting this credential in an attempt to obtain access, accommodation or any legal benefit is a misuse of it, is prohibited under these terms, and may be unlawful in your jurisdiction.

This is a novelty and commemorative product

What you are purchasing is a printed diploma, a registry entry, and the recognition they represent. The value is sentimental. Nothing about it is clinical, medical, legal or regulatory.

Credential display

On any credential-shaped artifact issued by this Association, the word "HOLISTIC" is and must remain visually dominant, so that no reasonable person encountering it could mistake it for a clinical or service credential.

Revocation

Certification may be revoked or voided at any time, for any reason, at the Association's sole discretion. Grounds include, without limitation: misrepresentation of the credential, use of offensive or misleading registration details, fraudulent payment, or conduct that brings the registry into disrepute. Revocation does not entitle you to a refund.

Registration accuracy

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you register. You may correct your dog's registered name at any time; a diploma already printed cannot be altered. You confirm that you have the right to register the dog and to upload the photograph you provide.

Term

Registrations run 2 years. For physical orders the term begins on shipment; for digital-only registrations it begins at purchase. Expired records remain in the registry and are marked expired. Memorial records do not expire.

Refunds

Registrations are non-refundable. In practice the Association will consider requests made before an order enters production, at its discretion. Requests should be made through the contact page, quoting the order number, before the change window closes (12 days from purchase for standard orders, 24 hours for rush orders). Where a refund is issued it is processed to the original payment method.

Delivery

Estimated delivery dates are estimates. The Association will notify you in advance if a date moves. Delay does not constitute grounds for a claim beyond the amount paid.

Public registry

Your dog's registered name, city, state, license number, dates and status are published and publicly searchable. Do not register information you are not willing to have published. You may mark a dog private at any time, which removes it from public view.

Limitation of liability

The Association's total liability arising from any registration is limited to the amount you paid for that registration. The Association is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, including any loss arising from reliance on this credential in a setting where it confers no rights, which is every setting.

Content and conduct

You may not register names or upload images that are obscene, harassing, impersonating, unlawful, or intended to deceive. The Association may remove any listing at its discretion.

Changes to these terms

The Association may update these terms. Material changes will be posted here with a revised date. Continued use of the registry constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
